130 Participants "Run for the Bulls”

RBull imageOn October 27th the Sixth annual 5K Run/2-Mile Walk called "Run for the Bulls" was a successful event for the Poquoson community. Drizzling rain, cloudy skies and chilly temps didn't stop 130 runners and 71 walkers from showing up to "RUN for the BULLS!" The Poquoson Education Foundation and Kiwanis Club of Poquoson co-host this annual event that raises monies to support classroom grants, student grants for national/international competitions, school-wide technology grants, and graduating seniors scholarships. The race itself was conducted by the Peninsula Track Club.

For the fifth time in five years, Clint Gault, 18 of Poquoson VA won the Run for the Bulls 5K having previously won this same event in 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017, finishing with a time of 16:10 (5:12 per mile pace). 2nd Male Overall finisher was Jakob Juhl, 15 of Poquoson VA in a time of 19:18 followed by 3rd Male Overall, Mason Ponton, 18 of Poquoson VA with a time of 19:33.

For the women 1st Female was Cassidy Spakes, 14 of Newport News VA with a time of 22:44. In a foot race at the finish, Tracy Hofstetter, 33 of Poquoson VA finished a mere 5 seconds behind with a time of 22:49 to place as 2nd Female Overall. 3rd Female Overall was Veronica Warwick, 32 of Poquoson VA finishing in 24:45.
