York County and Poquoson Two Week Sports Recap

The basketball season doesn't slow during the holiday time. The York boys turned around a rough 0-4 start with three stellar home wins. They defeated Bruton 61- 52 on Monday, 12/17, and then Warhill 52-41 the very next night. On Friday, 12/28 they just edged Mathews 43-42. However, the next night they finally lost again, this time to Kempsville 68-49.

On Monday, the girls squad traveled to Warhill, but lost by a 45- 23 count. That same night the Tabb girls visited Grafton and secured a tough-fought 43-38 win.

On Tuesday, the Grafton boys saw their big winning streak come to a sudden end, as they lost at Tabb 61-45.

In an overtime thriller, the Poquoson boys traveled to Bruton, but fell by a final count of 57-53.

The girls lost twice. They lost at Middlesex on Saturday, 12/15 by a 45- 28 tally, and on Monday at home to Bruton 33-22 in a defensive tussle.

Summit Christian Academy ventured all the way to Richmond, but the trip was worth it as the boys notched a 58-49 win on Friday, 12/21 against Spirit HomeSchool.

In wrestling action, on Tuesday, 12/18 the York Falcons lost to New Kent 38-18 and Lafayette 46-16.
