
The City of
Poquoson presents the
38th Annual Poquoson
Seafood Festival October
19-21, 2018 in Poquoson
Municipal Park, 830
Poquoson Avenue,
Poquoson, VA 23662. The
Festival honors the
Working Watermen of
the Chesapeake Bay and
the rich coastal heritage
of Poquoson. It includes
musical entertainment,
juried arts and crafts show,
dozens of food vendors
and children’s area. The
Annual Chesapeake Bay
Workboat Races, will be
held as a kick-off event
on October 14, and
details are on the Festival

Both kick-off event and
Festival are all family-oriented
and offer something
for everyone.
Holding with its
rich tradition, the Festival
will feature outstanding
regional and local musical
entertainment on the
Cub Cadet Municipal
Stage. Local and regional
legend Slapnation will
appear on Friday night,
October 19, 2018. On
Saturday, October 20,
2018, join us for a great
musical line-up including
The Mullins Sisters, The
Heather Edwards Band
and Bad Ace. On Sunday,
October 21, 2018 musical
entertainment is expected
to include Crazy X and
Gator Head Band.
Additional entertainment
expected during Festival
weekend includes the
Poquoson High School
Band, Poquoson
Islanderettes, Poquoson
Dance Academy, The
River Gypsies, Soul
Patch, Steve Forss Band,
Lite Bru and Eric Insley,
all appearing on the
Taylor’s Do It Center
Food Pavilion Stage.
The Poquoson
Seafood Festival hosts the
Poquoson Art League
Juried Arts and Crafts
Show, one of the larger
arts and crafts shows and
sales in the state of
Virginia with approximately
170 artisans
expected to exhibit a
myriad of outstanding
crafts and original art
work throughout the
weekend.
Living up to its
name, the Poquoson
Seafood Festival offers
some savory dishes from
the surrounding waters
in the Food Pavilion.
Crab cakes, shrimp, oysters,
clams, clam chowder,
soft shell crabs, catfish,
she crab soup, and
many other Festival
favorites will be available
for purchase. Items are
available both for the
land and seafood lover.
Also, don’t miss
the many exhibitors
found along Municipal
Drive who will have
items of sale and interest.
Additionally, Festival-goers will want
to avail themselves of the
exhibits and other activities
found on Daily Press
Municipal Field.
Included among them: Strolling Entertainment throughout
the weekend by
Monroe the Magnificent, The Teeny Tiny
Farm’s Baby Petting Zoo,
and other family fun with
exhibits and amusement
rides.
Children’s entertainment
will also be on
the Taylor’s Do It Center
Food Pavilion Stage featuring,
Rainbow Puppets
Productions, Inc. for
shows both Saturday and
Sunday.
