York County and Poquoson Weekly Sports Recap
Submitted by John Hamilton

The autumn sports season is long gone, and the winter sports season is now underway. In girls varsity basketball action, Tabb hosted York and walked away with a convincing 51-29 win on Thursday, 11/29. Two days earlier, on Tuesday, 11/27 York traveled to Bruton and lost in a defensive struggle 37-20.

The Grafton girls commenced their season by winning a 41-38 squeaker at Bishop Sullivan Catholic School on Monday, 11/26. However, the very next night they had to travel again, this time to Warhill, and lost by a decisive 49-30 tally. They then returned to the cozy confines of their home gymnasium, and beat Poquoson by a convincing 48-17 score.

On Tuesday, 11/27 the Summit Christian Academy boys hosted Denbigh Baptist Christian and won their opener 38-13. Then, on Friday, 11/30 SCA traveled to Bethel Christian and won 34-27, as they came back from a two point deficit after the end of the third quarter.

The winter sports season includes not only basketball, but also swimming, wrestling, and indoor track. In addition, both the debate and scholastic bowl teams will compete during the winter months.
